Easter Projects: What can you achieve over the Easter Long Weekend?
The Easter Weekend is nearly here. Four days away from work (if you’re lucky). Got any plans? Do you feel like tackling a project in the home or garden? If you’re up for doing something other than relaxing by the pool or kicking back on the couch, we have a few ideas. What’s more, because we’re also taking a few days off, on many items you can get a long weekend’s hire at a one day hire rate. (Collect your item on Thursday afternoon and return Tuesday morning).
Freshen Up the Backyard
Is your backyard looking a bit tired? If you have a family and pets or just a busy lifestyle, chances are your backyard has seen better days. Easter is the perfect time to tackle those more intense jobs – like refinishing the deck or cleaning the hard surfaces. Decking soon begins to look past its best after a few years but a Hiretech Floor Sander Package is a great combination if you want to spruce up the decking ready for applying a new coat of decking oil. Concrete paths, patios and paving stones tend to get discoloured or mouldy over time. Revive the flat surfaces by hiring a 3000psi water pressure cleaner to blast the mould and dirt off your paths, patio concrete and even your driveway.
Now is a great time to cut back overgrown plants and trim back unruly hedges before the trees go into “winter-mode”. Hire a Hedge Trimmer to tame any overgrown sections quickly and easily and get started on fixing the lawn. Our Lawn Keeper Combo will help you get your lawn looking tidy once again by using the line trimmer to tidy the edges and the lawn mower for the lawn. Hint: the lawn mower will also take care of the leaves on the ground from the hedge trimming.
Fix the Fencing
Make this Easter weekend the weekend when you finally get around to fixing the stretch of broken fence that fell down in the last storm. If some posts need replacing, hire a 2 Person post hole digger. You’ll need a friend to help but you can thank them with a BBQ on one of your spare days! Pick up a Coil Nail Gun Unit to fix any loose palings or to nail off some new sections.
Make a Start on the Bigger Projects
If you have plans to install a new sprinkler system or are preparing to run underground cables to a shed or granny flat, the four-day Easter weekend is a good time to make a start on your project. A Hydraulic Trencher is handy for laying irrigation pipes for a sprinkler system as well as electrical conduit. A Kanga Trencher will come in useful if you want to prepare for new plumbing such as
stormwater or sewage pipes. Equipment like this makes the bigger jobs easier and less time-consuming … which means you get more time to relax in the pool or on the couch.
Check out our catalogue of tools and equipment. Because it is public holiday, you can hire from Thursday PM to Tuesday AM and most items are just a one day hire charge. You’ll get more done for less!
