This edge trimmer attachment is used to trim grass edges into a neat chopped edge, leaving a small channel in the soil.  An edging tool is easy to use for these reasons:

• A bent shaft design makes this ergonomically comfortable.
• The depth of cut can be set for a consistent cut.
• A running wheel takes much of the weight of the attachment during use.
